So we’re driving home the other day and from the back seat, out of the blue, Ryan starts singing a sanitized version of Down With The Sickness by Disturbed. I beamed with pride. That’s my boy.
I joined in and started singing with him. When we finished, Ryan said “Mommy, you know that song!”
I said “Of course! I loooove that song!”
Ryan then asked “What song do you hate?”
I thought for a nanosecond. “Any song by Justin Bieber.”
Ryan replied “Yeah, Justin Bieber really sucks.”

Yep. You are raising your kid right! Bravo to you, ma’am! We have my son singing Black Sabbath’s Iron Man, among others. I am determined that he have a non-Disney music education.
Rock on! My son also does a pretty good Crazy Train, but I have to give all the credit for that one to Megamind.
Wow. . . you’re doing it! You’re winning at parenting! Do System of a Down with him next!
That is an excellent idea!!!
Damn right he sucks. You and your boy got good taste.
That is pure awesome. Mine has an interest in AC/DC right now since they had a song on the Megamind soundtrack….
Your nieces love to sing Bon Jovi…one of Marie’s last papers at school was fill in the blanks…”I love my mom when she sings….” and she finished the sentence with “Jersey songs” I love my kid!
Yay!!!! My kid is slow on the music appreciation, but he did say that Lady Gaga is “lame”, so I feel like we’re on the right track.
Just biding my time until I can introduce Rage Against the Machine.
Your kid is a genious!
